On vulnerable and identified routes/sections on Indian Railways, 1300 trains on an average are escorted by Railway Protection Force (RPF) daily, in addition to 2200 trains escorted by Government Railway Police of different States daily. Recruitment of 511 Sub-Inspectors and 17087 Constables of RPF has been completed recently. Out of these, 421 Sub-Inspectors have been deployed over zonal railways and initial training of 16388 Constables has been started in November, 2014.
