President of Indias message on the occasion of May Day The President of India, Shri Pranab Mukherjee extended greetings and good wishes to all the workers of India on the occasion of May Day. In his message the President has said, On the occasion of May Day, I extend my heartiest greetings and good wishes to all the workers of India. May Day, also known as Labour Day or International Workers Day, is an occasion when we pay tribute to the contribution that workers have made to progress, prosperity and well- being of our society. The increasing production and higher standards of living that our economy has witnessed would not have been possible without the relentless efforts of our vital labour force. Let us, on this day recognize and celebrate the enormous role our working force is playing in enabling our nation attain rapid socio-economic progress.
