Pak PM Sharif should have talked about Balochistan not Kashmir: Baloch activist

The activist also said that Pakistan was responsible for the attack on the Indian Army camp in Uri on Sunday

Lashing out at Pakistan's Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif for talking about Kashmir at the United Nations when there are grave human rights violations in Balochistan, Baloch activist advocate Mohammad Anwar said that the former should have instead talked about Balochistan.

"He should have talked about Balochistan instead of Kashmir. The world knows what is happening in Balochistan currently, where houses are being looted and razed, the people are being kidnapped and murdered," said Anwar.

He added that Pakistan has nothing to do with Kashmir.

When asked about Sharif's claim that Pakistan is a victim of sponsored terrorism, he said, "Terrorists there are not being funded from abroad, Pakistan is itself supporting them and everyone knows it."

He added that involvement of Pakistan is always found in every terror attack around the globe.

"Whenever there is a terror attack anywhere in the world, Pakistani people are always found behind it which proves this fact," he said alleging that Islamabad was behind the recent Quetta bombing that killed dozens of lawyers there.

He added, "I think Pakistan was also behind the latest attack on an Army base camp in India that killed 18 of its soldiers."

Earlier, Sharif in his address at the 71st session of the United Nations General Assembly said that Pakistan has been the principal victim of terrorism, including that supported, sponsored and financed from abroad.

He also raked up the Kashmir issue and said that peace and normalisation between Pakistan and India cannot be achieved without a resolution of the Kashmir dispute.
