A huge explosion in the northern Syrian city of Aleppo Thursday destroyed a hotel and several other buildings, a media report said.
The Carlton Citadel Hotel was destroyed when terrorists detonated explosives planted inside a tunnel under the building, SANA news agency reported.
The explosion also led to the collapse of other nearby buildings.
The Carlton Citadel is situated inside a 150-year-old building that faces the entrance of a 13th century citadel, which along with the rest of the Old City, is a Unesco World Heritage Site.
There was no immediate report about casualties in the explosion.
