BIMTECH to open its second campus in Bhubaneswar

The institute has been set up on a 30 acres land in the Gothapatna Institutional Area which has been alloted by Govt of Odisha

The Birla Institute of Management Technology (BIMTECH) will launch its Bhubaneswar campus this July, for which it has received approval from the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).

BIMTECH, Bhubaneswar has been set up on a 30 acres land in the Gothapatna Institutional Area which has been allotted by the Government of Odisha in 2009.

"The Government of Odisha has been scouting for some premier universities and institutions of excellence for setting up their campuses at Odisha. So far campuses of IIIT, IMI, NALCO R&D, Shiksha O Anushandhan University have already come up in the vicinity of BIMETCH campus," the institute said in a press statement.

BIMETCH is part of the Birla Academy of Art and Culture (BAAC) Kolkata, a charitable trust set up by B K Birla and Sarala Birla in 1962 for their forays in art, culture,
education and several kinds of philanthropic activities.  

Bhubaneshwar campus will be an integrated campus with nine buildings with residential facility for all students and faculty members. Leading companies like IBM, LG,
Godrej, Vodafone, ACIL, Liqvid, Fibrefill etc. have been engaged to provide various kinds of facilities and services.

H. Chaturvedi, Director, BIMTECH said the institute is currently partnering with 45 foreign B-schools and universities from Europe, US, Latin America, Africa and South East Asia.

Arrangements have been made for exchange of faculty and students from Bhubaneswar Campus to go abroad to pursue a semester with partner institutions. To serve the executive training needs of the industries in Eastern India, a MDP centre will also start functioning from July, 2013.
