| The service quality rating cell (SQRC), an offshoot of the management development programme and consultancy cell (MDPC) will establish a database of all showrooms and monitor their performance and finally award the best showrooms. |
| KIMS' director M S Subhas said that it will be a continuous feature from this year onwards. Other services to be rated are hospitals, hotels, schools, colleges, gas service stations and petrol bunks among others. |
| The SQRC aims at building database of organisations covering different service sectors in the twin city. It will evaluate and rate the service organisations based on the quality of service they offer to customers and develop mathematical models for each of the service sector. |
| "As we expect Hubli to witness a major growth in the retail sector this is an effort at improving the quality of services in the region," Subhas said. |
| This year, SQRC has decided to award to the best showroom (two-wheelers), best showroom (four-wheelers) best supermarket, best restaurant and best garment. The best showroom award will be presented at the Founder?s day function 'Samarpan' on Saturday at KIMS auditorium in Dharwad. |
| It was Tammappa Kausali a businessman from Hubli who donated funds for setting up the management studies institute in Karnatak University. KIMS will celebrate the founder's day on Saturday and leading businessman K B Desai will unveil the portrait of Kausali. |
| Meanwhile, former chairman of Corporation Bank R S Hugar has instituted four awards of excellence for students of KIMS in memory of his mother late Ningamma Hugar. |
| The awards will be presented on Saturday a la Oscar Awards with nominees being selected and presented by a combination of jury and students. |
