Areva gains 2% on strong order book

Areva ended the day with over 2% gain at Rs 340. Around 297,000 shares changed hands at the BSE counter today.

Areva T&D has advanced 3.5% at Rs 344 on the back of the news that it bagged an order worth Rs 1,200 crore from steel major Jindal Steel & Power (JSPL) for a power project, as announced by the company yesterday.

Furthermore, it bagged four contracts worth Rs 350 crore,  from power transmission utility Power Grid Corporation of India (PGCIL) for developing four substations in the country, this month.

The stock touched a high of Rs 351 and a low of Rs 336 in the afternoon trades. The counter has witnessed trades of 226,389 shares.

Areva T&D India, is an arm of French power equipment maker Areva. It is noteworthy that Areva T&D had bagged some major projects in the country's power sector recently.
