Barley gains on fresh buying support

Barley futures prices improved by Rs 44 to Rs 1,220 per quintal today, following fresh buying by traders, driven by firm spot market cues.
Marketmen said restricted supply against increased offtake in physical markets mainly influenced the trading sentiment.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, December barley rose by Rs 44, or 3.74%, to Rs 1,220 per quintal, with an open interest of 1,010 lots.
Prices for January contract gained Rs 13.40, or 1.12%, to Rs 1,210 per quintal, having an open interest of 740 lots.
