Barley up 1.33% on strong physical demand

Strong demand from breweries supported the uptrend

Barley January futures hardened by Rs 17.50, or 1.33% to Rs 1,336 per quintal in 1,550 lots.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, the April contract moved up by Rs 5, or 0.35% to Rs 1,437 per quintal in 5,800 lots.

Strong demand from breweries and cattle-feed making industries, amid restricted supplysupported barley futures trade.
