Copper falls 0.3% on global cues

Copper futures for February declined by Rs 1.40, or 0.31% to Rs 443.65 per kg in 15,132 lots.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), the April contract traded lower by Rs 1.35, or 0.3% to Rs 448.40 per kg in 1,306 lots.

Speculators offloading positions pulled dowm the prices.

Weak global trend, on speculation that Europe's debt crisis will worsen thus derailing the global economic recovery and eroding demand for industrial metals also affected the trade.

On the London Metal Exchange (LME), the three-month contract fell 0.4% to $8,270.50 a tonne.
