Copper and nickel prices declined by up to Rs 5 per kg on the local non-ferrous metal market today on reduced industrial offtake amid a weakening global trend.

Copper for three-month delivery fell by 0.8% to $8,720, while nickel shed 0.4% to $24,300 a metric tonne on the London Metal Exchange.

In the national capital, copper wire scrap, copper wire bar and copper mixed scrap declined by Rs 2 each to Rs 505, Rs 528 and Rs 488, respectively, while nickel (4x4) followed suit and shed Rs 5 to Rs 1,065-1,067 per kg.
