Crompton Greaves zooms 11% even as Q4 net dips

The stock soared 20% to a high of Rs 269 and finally closed up 11% at Rs 251. The counter witnessed trades of 636,318 shares on the BSE today.

Crompton Greaves has rallied 5% in late noon trades despite 48% drop in Q4 net.

Crompton Greaves stock today opened at Rs 227, and slipped to a low of Rs 225. The stock later rebounded and rallied to a high of Rs 244. The stock is currently trading at Rs 236, up 5%. The counter has clocked a volume of 381,566 shares at the BSE so far.

According to a release issued by the company to the BSE, the net profit has plunged 46% to Rs 14.60 crore for the quarter ended March 2009 as against Rs 27.10 crore in the corresponding quarter a year ago.

Consolidated sales, however, grew 28% to Rs 8,737.20 crore from Rs 6,832.3 crore.
