Crude palm oil prices moved up by 1.53% to Rs 478.40 per 10 kg in futures trade today as speculators created fresh positions, triggered by rising demand at the spot markets.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, crude palm oil for October delivery moved up by Rs 7.20, or 1.53%, to Rs 478.40 per 10 kg, with a business turnover of 43 lots.
Likewise, the oil for August delivery edged up by Rs 5, or 1.04%, to Rs 487 per 10 kg, with a trading volume of 98 lots.
Analysts said pick-up in spot market demand mainly pushed up crude palm oil futures prices.
