Eastern, a curry powder and masala brand , has entered the ready-to-cook segment by launching 12 products under four categories.
Eastern group chairman M E Meeran launched the products in Bangalore on Thursday. The company has also established a manufacturing facility at an investment of Rs 30 crore in Bangalore for the new vertical. It expects a turnover of Rs 100 crore from the vertical in the first year of operations, he said.
The company will cover Bangalore, Mumbai, Pune, Hyderabad, Chennai and Ahmedabad apart from parts of Kerala during the first phase of the ready-to-cook products. The domestic launch will shortly be followed by overseas launch covering West Asia, US, UK and Australia, a group press release said.
