Freight rates for the ten metric tonne load section for select destinations hardened by Rs 1,000 in the local truck transport market today following busy movements of cargo against tight position of trucks.
Transporters said fresh supply of cargo along with short availability of trucks into the market, mainly pushed up some of centres freight rates.
Freight rates from Delhi to Mumbai, Pune and Ahmedabad rose by Rs 1,000 each to Rs 20,000, Rs 21000 and Rs 13,000 respectively.
Patna, Kolkata and Surat freights also gained by Rs 1,000 each to Rs 20,000, Rs 25,000 and Rs 18,000. Rates to chennai, Bangalore and Gwalior also went up by Rs 500 each to Rs 43,000, Rs 44,000 and Rs 9,000.
