Guarseed price showed a rise of Rs 26 or 1.09 per cent to Rs 2,367 per quintal in futures trading today due to fresh buying by traders guided by firm spot market cues.

Marketmen said restricted supply and heavy demand from guargum and cattlefeed makers mainly pushed up guarseed futures prices.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, guarseed futures prices for June-month contract went up by Rs 26 or 1.09 per cent to Rs 2,367 per quintal, with an open interest of 1,29,370 lots.

Contract for the month of May also moved up by Rs 24 or 1.01 per cent to Rs 2,355 per quintal, with an open interest of 77,530 lots.
