The wholesale gur prices shot up by Rs 100 per quintal in the national capital today following paucity of stocks amid frantic buying.
Muzaffarnagar and Muradnagar gur market also ended higher by Rs 200 per quintal on heavy buying amid poor supply.
In Delhi, gur dhayya spurted from Rs 2,550-2,600 to end at Rs 2,650-2,700 per quintal, while gur shakkar moved up by Rs 100 to Rs 2,700-2,800 from Rs 2,600-2,700 per quintal.
Chakku and pedi also gained by Rs 50 each to settle at Rs 2,350-2,400 and Rs 2,550-2,600 per quintal, respectively. At Muzaffarnagar gur khurpa went up from Rs 2,050-2,100 to Rs 2,100-2,150 per quintal.
Brisk buying by beer and cattle-feed making industries pushed up gur raskat prices by Rs 25 to Rs 1,900-2,000 per quintal.
Turning to Muradnagar, gur dhayya surged by Rs 200 to finish at Rs 2,500-2,550 instead of Rs 2,300-2,350 per quintal, while pedi prices were quoted higher at Rs 2,250-2,350 from Rs 2,150-2,250 per quintal.

uradnagar: Pedi Rs 2,250-2,350 and Dhaya Rs 2,500-2,550
