Gur prices firmed up by Rs 100 per quintal in the national capital today following paucity of stocks amid better offtake.

Market analysts said poor availability of sugar-cane against pick-up in demand mainly pushed up gur prices.

In Delhi, gur dhayya prices climbed up from Rs 2,450-2,500 to end at Rs 2,550-2,600 per quintal.

Gur chakku and pedi also gained from Rs 2,250-2,300 and Rs 2,450-2,500 per quintal to finish at Rs 2,300-2,350 and Rs 2,500-2,550 per quintal, respectively.

Turning to Muzaffarnagar, gur khurpa prices gained by Rs 50 to Rs 2,050-2,100 per quintal.
