Oilmeal exports fell by 42.8 per cent in April-July this year over the corresponding period in 2000 due to strong domestic demand and lower global prices.
Exports of oilmeals dropped to 361,810 tonne in the first four months of the 2001-02 fiscal from 632,879 tonne in the same period last year, according to estimates complied by the Solvent Extractors Association (SEA).
Exports of soymeal fell by 48 per cent to 294,901 tonne from 567,246 tonne, but the exports of rapeseed meal doubled to 47,027 tonne from 23,370 tonne, SEA said.

In July, oilmeal exports rose marginally to 78,200 tonne from 74,862 tonne in the same month a year ago, but exports of soymeal fell to 62,000 tonne from 68,748 tonne.
India exported 10,500 tonne of rapeseed meal in July against none in the same month of 2000.
