ONGC gains 3% ahead of results

ONGC ended the day with over 3% increase at Rs 1,026, after touching a high of 1,042 and a low of Rs 979. The counter witnessed trades of 523,748 shares today.

ONGC has gained on investor's expectations ahead of the announcement of its results tomorrow.

The stock opened in the red at Rs 980, but managed to recover. It slipped further to a low of Rs 979. However, it recovered and is now trading 3% higher at Rs 1,024. Around 339,773 stocks have changed hands at the counter on the BSE today.

Further, news of the government's plan to increase the price of natural gas by 17% has effected investors sentiments. ONGC curently loses about Rs 3,000 crore in revenues annually on selling gas at Government capped price.
