Rolta India has soared 15% to Rs 89 on the BSE on back of heavy volumes after the company announced that it has won seven year, multi-million pound contract from UK Power Networks to manage and update their spatially-enabled network asset information.

UK Power Networks is a major utility company that delivers electricity to London, the South East and the East of England.

At 11:07 am, the stock was up 14% at Rs 87 as compared to 0.59% rise in the S&P BSE Sensex. The trading volumes on surged an over 10-fold with a combined 6.12 million shares representing 3.8% of total equity changed hands on the counter on the BSE and NSE.
