Sensex down 368pts; ITC surges 4%

The Sensex is now down 368 points at 10,316.

ICICI Bank and Bharti Airtel have slumped 7.5% each to Rs 399 and Rs 670, respectively.

Tata Steel, Mahindra & Mahindra and Reliance Communications have plunged 7% each to Rs 258, Rs 380 and Rs 240, respectively.

TCS, Sterlite and Hindalco have shed 5.3% each at Rs 531, Rs 279 and Rs 61, respectively.

Tata Motors has dropped 5% to Rs 235. Maruti has slipped 4.7% to Rs 645.

Larsen & Toubro and SBI have declined around 4.5% each to Rs 823 and Rs 1,426, respectively.

Reliance and NTPC are down around 4% each at Rs 1,340 and Rs 146, respectively.

ITC has surged over 4% to Rs 176. BHEL has advanced over 1% to Rs 1,157.

The market breadth is fairly negative - out of 2,430 stocks traded so far, 1,536 have declined, 814 have advanced and the rest are unchanged.
