Sensex down 457pts; Wipro drops 10%

The Sensex is now down 457 points at 11,239.

Wipro has slumped 10.3% to Rs 275. Satyam and Sterlite have tumbled 8.5% each to Rs 255 and Rs 287, respectively.

Jaiprakash Associates has tumbled 8% to Rs 93, and Tata Steel has shed 7% at Rs 333.

TCS has slipped over 6% to Rs 540. Infosys, Grasim and ICICI Bank have declined around 5.5% each to Rs 1,230, Rs 1,530 and Rs 459, respectively.

Tata Motors and HDFC Bank are down around 5% each at Rs 300 and Rs 1,072, respectively.

Ranbaxy has surged over 5% to Rs 270. Tata Power has gained 3.3% at Rs 794.

Out of 2,577 stocks traded so far, 2,252 have declined, 297 have advanced and the rest are unchanged.
