The Sensex today opened 162 points lower at 10,805. The index soon dropped to a low of 10,719. The index, thereafter, recovered most of its losses and is now down 26 points at 10,941.
Tata Motors has surged 5% to Rs 265. Ranbaxy and Reliance Communications have rallied nearly 3% each to Rs 194 and Rs 226, respectively.
ACC and BHEL have gained 2.5% each at Rs 607 and Rs 1,564, respectively.
Infosys has plunged 4.5% to Rs 1,347. Wipro and Sterlite have shed 3.5% each at Rs 259 and Rs 411, respectively.
TCS and HDFC Bank have dropped 3% each to Rs 574 and Rs 1,064, respectively.
