Sensex ends down 97pts

The Sensex has ended (provisional) at 16,714 - down 97 points.

The Nifty has ended (provisional) at 4,965 - down 33 points.

The Sensex is exhibiting volatility and is now at 16,767, down 44 points.

The NSE Nifty is at 4,974, down 23 points.

DLF has slumped 4% to Rs 434. Hindalco and Reliance Infrastructure have slipped over 2% each to Rs 138 and Rs 1,208, respectively.

Tata Motors and Tata Steel have advanced 2.5% each to Rs 543 and Rs 544, respectively.

HDFC and NTPC have added over 2% each to Rs 2,778 and Rs 219, respectively.

Larsen & Toubro, Grasim Industries, ITC and ITC are up over 1% each.

The market breadth is negative, out of 2,739 shares traded, 1,514 have declined and 1,155 have advanced so far the BSE.
