The Sensex opened 162 points lower at 10,805 and soon touched a low of 10,719 on the back of negative cues from the overseas markets coupled with earnings warning by Infosys.
Thereafter, the index recovered and rebounded into the positive zone helped by steady buying in realty, power and banking stocks.
The index rallied to a high of 11,338 - up 618 points from the day's low - towards the fag end of the day. The Sensex finally (provisional) ended with a gain of 356 points at 11,323.
