Sensex up 456pts; ICICI Bank rallies 10%

The Sensex opened with a positive gap of 472 points 11,781, and soon jumped to a high of 11,851. The index has pared some gains and is now up 456 points at 11,765.

Wipro has zoomed nearly 11% to Rs 314. ICICI Bank and Satyam have soared 9.5% each to Rs 466 and Rs 294, respectively.

Larsen & Toubro surged 7.5% to Rs 1,062, and DLF has gained 7% at Rs 322.

Reliance Communications, Tata Power and Jaiprakash Associates have rallied around 6.5% each to Rs 301, Rs 841 and Rs 86, respectively.

TCS and Reliance Infrastructure have moved up 6% each to Rs 611 and Rs 637, respectively. HDFC has added 5.5% to Rs 1,917.

Infosys and Tata Steel have advanced over 5% each to Rs 1,389 and Rs 320, respectively.

Reliance and Bharti Airtel are up 4.3% each at Rs 1,639 and Rs 772, respectively.

Mahindra & Mahindra has shed 2.5% at Rs 508, and Hindalco has slipped 1.5% to Rs 87.
