Silver futures prices traded higher by Rs 48 to Rs 35,890 per kg today on pick up in demand for Diwali.
Firming trend in Asian regions further fueled the uptrend.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange counter, silver for delivery in May rose by Rs 48, or 0.13 per cent, to Rs 35,890 per kg, with a business volume of just one lot.
Similarly, the metal for delivery in December traded higher by Rs 31, or 0.09 per cent, to Rs 35,579 per kg, with a business turnover of 10 lots.
Marketmen said pick up in demand in the spot market amid firming trend in it prices in Asian region, mainly led to the rise in silver futures prices.
Meanwhile, silver traded higher by 0.04 per cent to $23.57 an ounce in Asian regions.
