Nickel futures for January traded Rs 1.20, or 0.13% lower at Rs 937.70 per kg in 831 lots.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, the February contract declined by Re 1, or 0.1%, to Rs 944.50 per kg in 100 lots.

Sluggish demand from alloy-makers triggered the downtrend.

Weakness in base metals at the London Metal Exchange (LME) despite data showing China's manufacturing growing at the fastest pace in two years put pressure on nickel futures here.
