 "BSE Smallcap index up third straight day")
Shares of small-sized companies are back in action, with the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) S&P BSE Smallcap index gaining for a third straight trading session, after falling more than 10% from its recent highs.
At 02:57 PM, the S&P BSE Smallcap index was up 2.6% compared to a 2.3% rise in the S&P Midcap index and 2% gain in the S&P BSE Sensex.
The BSE Smallcap index has recovered 3.8% or 404 points to 10,992 in the past three trading sessions. It had fallen by 1,548 points or 13% from its recent highs of 12,136 which touched on August 5, 2015.
Symphony, Escorts, Kwality, Man Industries, Tata Sponge Iron, Gravita India, Igarshi Motors, Nandan Denim, Eveready Industries, TV Today Network, Geometric, Future Retail, Phoenix Mills and Kokuyo Camlin are some of the BSE small-cap stocks that have rallied more than 10% each.
JBF Industries, Himatsingka Seide, TRF, Vimal Oil Foods, Vakrangee, Granules India and Datamatics Global Services have gained 9% each.
