Thermax zooms 11% on Q4 net fillip

The stock touched a high of Rs 424, up 21% from the day's low. It finally ended up 11% at Rs 390. The counter clocked a volume fo 81,550 shares on the BSE today.

Thermax has surged 10% on the back of 17% rise in Q4 net profit.

The stock opened flat at Rs 350. It soon zoomed 11% to a high of Rs 388. It is now trading 10% higher at Rs 386. A total of 21,258 shares have been traded at the counter so far.

According to a release issued by the company to the BSE, the net profit has increased 17% to Rs 94.33 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2009 as against Rs 80.52 crore in the corresponding quarter a year ago. Total income was up 3% at Rs 960.14 crore from Rs 934.66 crore.

Further, the board has recommended a dividend of Rs 5 per share (250%) o on Rs 2 face value.
