Turmeric prices moved down by 3.01% to Rs 8,120 per quintal in futures trading today on increased arrival of new season crop in the market against subdued demand.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, turmeric for delivery in July dropped by Rs 252, or 3.01% to Rs 8,120 per quintal, with an open interest of 2,355 lots.
Likewise, the spice for delivery in May fell by Rs 188, or 2.18% to Rs 8,452 per quintal, with an open interest of 6,305 lots.
Analysts said trading sentiments turned weak owing to subdued demand against increased arrivals of new season crop in the market.
