General Motors India has launched MY 15 Chevrolet Captiva 2.2 with additional features like new cluster ionizer, which generates ions to purify and deodorize cabin interiors and new instrument cluster for improved visibility among other attributes. It will continue to be offered both in manual (MT) and automatic (AT) versions. The ex-showroom Delhi price of MT will be Rs. 25,13,528 and AT Rs. 27,36,192. This translated to about Rs 29.5 lakhs and Rs 32 lakhs approximate on the road. This is a complete body import, and at the moment Chevrolet has no plans to assemble it in India.

The Captiva 2.2 with its boldly contoured hood, aggressive clear-lens projection headlamps and the signature Chevrolet grille features a prominent Chevrolet bow-tie. The Captiva has bold wheel arches, 235/65 R 17 tyres mounted on alloy wheels and a sharp feature line across the length of the Captiva add to the masculinity of its stance, while subtle chrome highlights and a bold coupe-style rear window treatment add grace to the overall visual package.

The Captivas strong rear design is dominated by a large tailgate and stylish vertical LED tail lamps with indicators and reversing lamps contained in circular elements. Below, the chrome tipped twin exhaust complement the Captivas sporty looks. The Captiva 2.2 includes a powerful 2.2-litre engine that delivers 186.5bhp at 3800rpm and 400 Nm at 2000rpm torque along with an option of six-speed automatic transmission with All Wheel Drive (AWD) system besides the manual transmission variant.

The Captiva has been designed to maximize space. The 5 + 2 Flexi Seating arrangement can comfortably accommodate seven adults and can be transformed into an adaptable luggage carrier in a flash. Its unique, fold-flat seating arrangement provides up to 1,565 liters of cargo volume. The new Captiva 2.2 has a fresh new sporty and muscular exterior design and premium jet-black interiors.

Among the new comfort and convenience amenities are cruise control; third-row heating, ventilation and air-conditioning system; an electric parking brake; rain-sensing wipers; and a stylish sunroof. The Captiva has dual zone AC, and additional storage solutions, including a large wet/dry area beneath the load compartment floor, an illuminated glove box, a deep Centre console bin, a rear centre-console storage area and handy door bins.

Other convenience features include bottle holders, small item/coin and cup holders, a parking ticket holder, seat-back pockets and a dual-compartment sliding drivers armrest. The Captiva also features three 12-volt power outlets that are accessible to all passengers.
