Petrol price slashes by INR 3.02/litre, diesel soars by INR 1.47

Petrol price goes down, diesel increases because of international price

As the international crude prices are changing, petrol price is reduced by INR 3.02 per litre, while diesel price sees a hike of INR 1.47 for a litre. The petrol car will be priced at INR 56.61 for a litre in New Delhi, while the diesel price will be INR 46.43 for a litre in the national capital.

"The current level of international product prices of Petrol & Diesel and INR-USD exchange rate warrant decrease in price of Petrol and increase in price of Diesel, the impact of which is being passed on to the consumers with this price revision," Indian Oil Corporation stated in a press release.

s The Union Budget has announced a hike in duty for SUVs, and this will be another factor that will be disappointing for diesel car buyers. There has been a hike in taxes for petrol, CNG and LPG vehicles by one percent, while for diesel it is 2.5 per cent. This will affect the sentiments of diesel car buyers and there will be a great shift towards petrol powered vehicles.
