The iconic Lotus Esprit submarine, which was driven James Bond in 'The Spy Who Loved Me', is expected to rake in 500,000 pounds at a London auction.

The car, which was nicknamed Wet Nellie, is being sold by a US businessman who bought it in 1989 for less than 100 dollars, the Daily Express reported.

The businessman, who had never seen the spy film, only realized the car's worth when his neighbour asked him why he had James Bond's car parked outside his home.

The Lotus would go under the hammer at RM Auctions in London.
