2 suspects arrested in Gatwick airport chaos released

Two people, who were arrested on Saturday for suspected "criminal use of drones" at Gatwick Airport this week, were released by the British police on Sunday without being charged.

The New York Times quoted the Detective Chief Superintendent Jason Tingley as saying in a statement, "Both people have fully cooperated with our enquiries and I am satisfied that they are no longer suspects in the drone incidents at Gatwick."

The British Police also confirmed that forensic tests are still underway over a damaged drone that was recovered near the Gatwick airport, one the busiest airport in London.

Meanwhile, the Gatwick Airport authorities have also announced to offer an amount of 50,000 pounds as a reward for giving information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for the "criminal act" that disrupted flights.

The two people, who were arrested, were identified as Paul Gait, aged 47, and his wife Elaine Kirk, aged 54. The investigation also revealed that the social media pages of Gait consisted of photos and details regarding his knowledge of drones and remote-controlled helicopters.
