66 more bank accounts of Gitanjali Group frozen

The Income Tax Department on Monday froze 66 more bank accounts of the Gitanjali Group which has a total credit balance of Rs 80.07 crore.

The group is owned by Mehul Choksi, who is co- accused along with Nirav Modi in the Punjab National Bank (PNB) fraud of over Rs 11000 crore.

Passports of Nirav Modi and Mehul Choksi have been revoked. The scam, allegedly started in 2011 ,was unearthed last month, after which the PNB officials reported it to the concerned agencies.
