More than 90 people were reportedly arrested for hacking computers, using malware that allowed them to remotely hijack computers and turn on webcams, access data and steal passwords.
According to CNN, FBI and police conducted a global hacker crackdown in which they nabbed 90 people from 19 countries who hacked others computers to exploit their privacy using malware called Blackshades.
The crackdown included the Swedish hacker Alex Yucel, who was the co-creator of Blackshades. The hacker was detained in Moldova, the report added.
U.S. Attorney Preet Bharara said that this is a crippled and frightening form of cybercrime that has affected thousands of users.
