The Congress on Saturday alleged that the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is bound to fail and split.
"That party is bound to fail and split because they were trying to make people believe that they are something different but all of know that they are just not different. They are just for power and nothing else," said Congress leader P.C. Chacko.
The Congress leader also used the occasion to take potshots at Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.
"It is their internal affair. But the Chief Minister of Delhi, a person who claims to be a role model in public life, is raising acquisitions and allegations against all leaders in party. The language he is using against his own colleague is the reflection of his culture," Chacko said.
"And it is most unfortunate if that sting operation clippings that have come out, if it is true, then Mr. Kejriwal should tender and apologise publically. Because it is a misbehaviour, which is unbecoming of a person holding the post of Chief Minister," he added.
In further escalation of infighting within the AAP, Prashant Bhushan and Yogendra Yadav had yesterday hit out at Kejriwal, accusing him of stifling internal democracy and adopting unfair means to capture power.
The duo alleged that any issue raised by them was being projected as questioning Kejriwal's leadership and attempts to remove him from the post of AAP's national convener.
Later in the day, the tussle got murkier after a secretly-taped phone conversation was leaked in which the AAP chief is heard abusing Bhushan and Yadav and threatening to exit the party with 67 Delhi MLAs.
