After his much-acclaimed performance in the film Ankhon Dekhi, actor Rajat Kapoor returns to big screen with a new film titled 'Mantra'.
Set in the year 2003, the film stars Rajat Kapoor, Kalki Koechlin, Adil Hussain and Shiv Pandit, besides several Delhi-based actors.
Directed by debutant director Nicholas Khargonkor, the film has been entirely shot in and around Delhi, and is slated for release next year.
In the film, Rajat essays the role of an industrialist amidst the booming MNC culture of a newly liberalized India.
Talking about his role's preparation, Rajat said, "I don't prepare. I just take a look at the costumes. Once that is right, I feel confident enough to get into the skin of my character."
Further, he adds that every actor has a certain style of preparation, which is highly individualistic. Some go the method-acting way, some mediate, while some like him prefer to go with the flow.
In the past few years, Rajat has gone on the offbeat path with content-rich films like Monsoon Wedding, Bheja Fry and Mithya etc.
"Everybody has a certain sensibility regarding the kind of work they choose. It's best to stay true to your sensibilities. I prefer to stick to mine," he adds.
