Actress and filmmaker Smita Talwalkar passed away at Mumbai's Jaslok Hospital on Wednesday.
Talwalkar had been diagnosed with ovarian cancer in 2010, and had not been keeping well for some time.
Smita was popular for her acts in films like 'Tu Saubhagyavati Ho' and 'Gadbad Ghotala'.
Talwalkar was one of the most successful producers of Marathi industry with two national awards to her credit as a producer for the films 'Kalat Nakalat' and 'Tu tithe Mee'.
As a producer, Smita Talwalkar produced about 25 serials and six films.
'Gharkul', 'Peshwai', 'Avantika' and a few others are some of the most prominent works of her in television.
After recovering from cancer, Talwalkar featured in serials like 'Radha Hi Bawari', 'Uncha Maza Zoka' and a few others.
