Tottenham Hotspur forward Emmanuel Adebayor has asked the club to give him a 1 million-pound pay off to leave the side after being banished to the reserves.

According to metro.co.uk, Adebayor has fallen out of favour under Andre Villas-Boas and, after failing to earn a transfer away during the summer, was made to train with the youth team this week.

QPR have expressed an interest in signing the 29-year-old on-loan, but Adebayor has asked Spurs to cancel his contract and make him a free agent, the report said.

However, Adebayor will not walk away cheaply after asked Spurs chairman Daniel Levy for a 1 million-pound pay off in order to go, the report added.

The Togo international is on around 100,000 pounds-a-week at White Hart Lane, and still has two years left to run on his deal, the report further said.

Adebayor believes he could get a lucrative switch to a Middle Eastern club if he is a free agent, and will push to be let go in the coming days, according to the report.
