Aditya Roy Kapur has revealed that he plays the role of Tariq Haidar from Lucknow in his upcoming film 'Dawaat-e-Ishq' who runs a "khandani restaurant" that his ancestors passed on to him.
The 'Aashiqui 2' star said that he took up the role as he was looking for something different and it was a challenge to depict a character whose upbringing and lifestyle are completely different from his, the Express Tribune reported.
Speaking about his role, he mentioned that his character is a "'worldwide" kind of person, as he hasn't traveled much but he appeals to people from across the globe when he meets them.
He added that the role was well-written and it gripped him, which prompted him to sign up for it.
Kapur's next flick, starring Parineeti Chopra is directed by Habib Faisal and is set to release on September 19.
