Afghanistan court has sentenced 11 policemen to a year in prison for failing to protect a woman, who was killed by a mob in Kabul in March.
The verdict came after the court sentenced four men to death and handed jail terms to eight others for the killing earlier this month, reported the BBC.
Eight other policemen accused in the case were acquitted on Tuesday.
The 28-year-old woman named, Farkhunda, had argued with an amulet seller about his practice of peddling charms to women, at the well-known Shah-Du-Shamshaira shrine in Kabul. During the course of the squabble, she was accused of burning the Quran and a crowd overheard and attacked her.
An official investigator said that no evidence was found to support the allegation leveled against Farkhunda.
During the trial, some of the accused admitted they had been drawn in by the claims.
The incident sparked widespread protests against the treatment of women.
