The Delhi Police on Friday registered an FIR against unknown people on a complaint filed by the Press Club management against the organisers of the event where slogans were raised in favour of 2001 Parliament attack convict Afzal Guru.
The complaint in this regard was filed at the Parliament Street Police Station.
Days after the outrage over a group of left-leaning students in Jawaharlal Nehru University organising a meet to mourn the hanging of Guru, another commemorative meeting was held at the Press Club of India in Delhi on Wednesday where anti-India slogans were raised.
The Press Club management had yesterday issued a showcause notice to the members, who had booked the conference hall for the event.
The Delhi Police had earlier registered a case of sedition against the JNU students, who had agitated against Guru's hanging following complaints by Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Maheish Girri and the Akhil Bharatiya Vidhyarthi Parishad (ABVP) members.
