Former South Africa pace spearhead Allan Donald has resigned on Tuesday from his role as the country's bowling coach.
Donald was assigned the role of bowling coach in June 2011 as part of Gary Kirsten's management team and continued in the role under Russell Domingo from August 2013.
Donald said that he has had some time to reflect after the World Cup and had come to the conclusion that the time was right to move on, Sport24 reported.
Describing last four years as 'the best of his life', Donald said that he was blessed to have worked with the best bowling attack in the world over a four year period and leave with fond memories and experiences, particularly getting to the top of the ICC Test rankings.
The former right arm fast bowler added that being involved with the Proteas in the 2015 Cricket World Cup was a goal he had set his sights on.
Meanwhile South Africa head coach, Domingo, said that Donald was a professional with great insight and knowledge of the game, insisting that his expertise has added good value to their bowling department.
Domingo further said that Donald leaves behind a healthy bowling setup buoyed by some of the best bowlers in the world, adding that he could be proud of the fruits of his labour over the last few years.
