Asserting that the Congress is going to handed a spectacular defeat by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the upcoming state polls, party chief Amit Shah called on the people of Manipur to 'uproot' the grand old party from the state if they wanted development by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Kicking off BJP's campaign in the poll-bound state, Shah launched a scathing attack on the state government, saying that the money meant for the poor people of Manipur has reached homes of Congress leaders.
"This huge gathering is a clear indication that Congress is going to lose while BJP will form government in Manipur with 2/3rd majority. There has been no development in Manipur. If you want Modi Government's policies and programmes to reach here, you have to uproot the current state government," Shah said.
Asserting that Prime Minister Modi's motto of "Sabka Saath-Sabka Vikas" also included North East states, which are a key focus for the Centre.
Taking a dig at Congress, he said that the Prime Minister's dream of 'Congress-free India' will be taken forward by the people of the country and the process has started from Assam.
BJP has made headway in the civic polls to Imphal Municipal Council, by winning 10 out of 27 seats and the ruling Congress winning 12.
In 2011, BJP won a lone seat, while the Congress won 13.
