Japan's largest airline, All Nippon Airlines (ANA) introduces Wi-Fi service on its international routes enabling passengers to access internet on board.

ANA is the world's eighth largest airline in terms of revenue and the country's largest in terms of passengers.

The Wi-Fi service will enable ANA passengers to purchase internet access on-board through credit cards.

This technology will make it easier for the passengers to access internet on their smart phones or tablets and surf on social networking sites such as Facebook, Twitter and various other portals.

The new service has been introduced in response to customer requests for on-board internet access, as more people become accustomed to using smart phone and tablet on the move.

Using this service on PCs is not recommended.

It will be provided in partnership with JSAT Mobile Communications which supports the "Internet OnAir" Wi-Fi service in Japan and will be available on all class of selected international flights serviced by Boeing 777-300ER and Boeing 767-300ER aircraft.

ANA Wi-Fi will be applicable from March 1st, 2014 and the Data plans may vary from up to 5MB for 6 USD, up to 10MB for 12 USD and up to 20MB 24 USD.

Founded in 1952, ANA flies today to 31 international destinations and 50 domestic cities with a fleet of 232 aircraft serving a network of 175 routes.
