On the first anniversary of Gurdwara Oak Creek (Wisconsin) tragedy tomorrow, the American Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (AGPC) today expressed grief with the families affected during the shoot out last year.

In a clear case of 'hate crime', a supremacist had opened fire inside the Gurdwara, killing six people and injuring four.

AGPC President JS Hothi, Coordinator Dr. Pritpal Singh and political activist Harpreet Singh from California stated in a press release that this is the time for offering prayers for the departed souls and expressed sympathy with the aggrieved families.

They meanwhile thanked American Sikh Congressional Caucus, especially its Co-Chair Judy Chu and David Valadao for their untiring efforts to resolve various Sikh issues, especially concerning the security of the Sikh Temples.

Dr. Pritpal Singh said that the religious ceremonies were being observed to mark the anniversary of the tragedy. He said prayers would be held and various issues concerning the Sikh community would also be discussed during the events.

He said the Sikh Caucus formed recently had done huge work in a short span in bringing the issues of the Sikhs at the right platform. He said they were thankful that Judu Chu and David Valadao had been making efforts to bring the tragic incident on the records of the US Congress.
