Army major killed by militants in Kashmir's Shopian District
Militants have killed a major of the Indian Army in Jammu and Kashmir's Shopian District during a six-hour-long gun-battle on Friday.
Media reports have also confirmed the death of two militants in the encounter, while a third one remains holed up in the house in Karewa Malino village, 55 km from Srinagar.
Security forces have reportedly surrounded the house in question, and cordoned off the area to ensure no one gets away.
